Manipur Border Village Attacked, Houses Set Ablaze in Pre-Dawn Terror

Kamjong: Fresh violence erupted in Manipur’s Kamjong district early Thursday morning. Heavily armed militants, suspected to be linked to Myanmar-based groups like the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B), launched an attack on border villages, including Namlee Market and Choro, around 4:00 AM. Local sources report that the assailants used automatic weapons before setting several houses on fire, primarily targeting the Tangkhul community.

While official details are still awaited, eyewitnesses report flames engulfing multiple homes, forcing villagers to flee in panic. No casualties have been confirmed yet, but extensive property damage is feared. Security forces are reportedly monitoring the tense situation along the porous Indo-Myanmar border.
