BOSTON / NEW DELHI, June 3, 2026 — Abhijeet Dipke, the 30-year-old founder of the youth pressure group “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP), announced on Tuesday his plans to return to India and launch a peaceful sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6. The demonstration will demand the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over recent exam irregularities, including the NEET paper leak controversy, CUET, and CBSE exam issues.

Speaking from Boston, where he has been pursuing a course in public relations research for the past two years, Dipke stated he is prepared for any legal outcomes, including potential police detention.

Mobilization and Legal Procedures

Dipke highlighted that the CJP, formed less than a month ago as a Gen Z-focused youth pressure group, has quickly established an organized organizational structure with a growing support base.

  • Ground Mobilization: Activists and youth supporters are currently being mobilized from various parts of the country to gather in New Delhi over the weekend.
  • Police Permission: Dipke stated that upon landing at the airport, he intends to approach the Parliament Street police station to formally seek permission for the protest.
  • Preparedness for Detention: Acknowledging the risk of administrative action, Dipke noted, “They may arrest me for a year or six months – but I am ready for whatever happens next.”

Sonam Wangchuk Joins Call for Accountability

The planned protest received a significant boost on Tuesday when climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk announced his decision to join the demonstration.

In a video post, Wangchuk explained that he initially questioned the origins of the Cockroach Janata Party to ensure it represented legitimate Indian youth rather than foreign interests. After communicating with Dipke and reviewing data regarding the group’s support base, Wangchuk stated he was convinced of their patriotic intent and commitment to national improvement.

READY FOR 6th JUNE…
Armed with nothing but PEACE & LOVE

Use of force if any, must not be from our side! Even if it means Jail…

HAR EK KO ZINDAGI MEI EIK BAR JAIL JANA CHAHIYE
NOT FOR A CRIME BUT FOR A CAUSE…!

“On June 6, which is Saturday, they are calling people to Delhi so that we can demand the resignation of the Education Minister. Now, your and their reason could be the NEET paper leaks, or the CUET and CBSE exams, but for me, this is an even bigger issue,” Wangchuk stated.

Wangchuk, who has spent four decades advocating for educational reforms, expressed disappointment at the lack of structural changes. He stated that if Minister Pradhan does not resign by June 5, he will travel to Delhi to join Dipke and youth supporters at Jantar Mantar, closing his message with the call to action: “If not now, when? If not us, who?”
